Grieving After A SIDS Death
Grieving After A SIDS Death

SIDS is rare. Parents should never let their fear of SIDS prevent them from enjoying their baby.

Losing a baby to SIDS is a tremendously painful experience. It can take months or years before
you begin to feel as if your life is getting to normal. Everyone in the household will have his or
her own way of dealing with grief. Some family members may be struggling with guilt. Support from
family and friends is very important for everyone.

If you are in need of additional support:
- Join a grief support group. Speaking with others who know what you're going through can be very helpful.
- Visit a mental health professional. Many families benefit from group counseling.
- Talk with a close family member, friend, or clergy member.
